Lindsey Wood is honored to serve as Superintendent of Schools for Waskom ISD.

As an East Texas native and graduate of Jacksonville High School, public education has always been part of her story. She comes from a family of educators and has spent the past 20 years serving students, staff, and families in Texas public schools, including 13 years in campus and district leadership.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Wood has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent. Each role has shaped the way she leads and strengthened her belief that great schools are built through strong relationships, clear communication, high expectations, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for students.

Mrs. Wood believes deeply in the power of public schools. She wants Waskom ISD to be a place where students feel supported, staff feel valued, and families know the district is working together for the good of every child.

What stands out to Mrs. Wood about Waskom ISD is the pride this community has in its schools and in one another. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the staff, students, families, and community as Waskom ISD continues moving forward together.

Mrs. Wood and her husband, Tracy, have a deep connection to Texas public schools. Tracy spent 35 years coaching Texas high school football and baseball. Together, they are the proud parents of four adult children: Taylor and her husband, Cody, Kyle, Luke, and Lorelei. Their younger two attend Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University, and their family’s greatest joy is being Dolly and Coach to their grandson, Greyson.
